As she speaks, Becky offers her vivid testimony of her decision to follow Christ and His sustaining power and grace through her mountaintops and valleys—including 10 years on the mission field in Belize, a near break-up of her marriage, infertility, parenthood, and teaching in public high schools for 31 years.
She has learned that obedience to God's Word and an intense desire to be like Jesus and follow Him are the absolute keys to real joy and the only way to buffet life's storm.
Becky has been a professional comedian for the past 16 years, a high school teacher for 31 years, and a nationally known speaker since 1985. She just completed a TV pilot called, "The Chickilu YaYas".
She has performed for the Boeing Corporation, Teen Challenge, Kaiser Permanente, The Salvation Army, Cubic Corporation, the Crystal Cathedral, KinderCare, Executive Women International, San Diego District Attorney's Office, ServiceMaster, and many more.
Her first book, Joy Killers, is now in its second printing. Becky's second book, The Do's and Don't for Teachers, was released September 2007.
Becky lives with her husband Randy in California and has three grown children.

Our Bratas In Life
Brata is a Creole word for unmerited surprise gift or extra bonus. Little did Becky realize when she was growing up in the little Caribbean country of Belize how God would use that word to show His grace when her world came crashing down around her 20 years later. This is her very touching and humorous account of life as a missionary kid (MK), her near loss of husband and child, and her realization that Jesus Christ is our all-sufficiency and everything else He gives us are bratas.
Laughter, God's Best Medicine
A very funny look at life's most comical moments, dotted with stories from the lives of the well known, as well as Becky's own personal situations. She has come to believe that God wants us to keep everything in perspective—including the ability to laugh at one self—and that "the merry heart does good, like a medicine".
Choosing Sovereign Joy
This is an exciting look at the blessings that come from a life lived in the “greater joy” that God promises in Psalm 4:7. In this presentation Becky defines sovereign joy, explains how to cultivate it, and identifies the four sabotaging joy-killers. She teaches through both Scripture and her personal experience how to see the sovereign hand of God in events in our lives to bring us joy.
The Do's and Don'ts for Teachers
The classroom can be a scary place. Ask any teacher, both the new and the experienced. Ask about the nightmares they have in August before school starts. Ask about the stomach pains on the first day. Ask about reactions to seeing their class roster.
Teaching is tough. But as everyone knows and quotes, it IS the most rewarding job on earth.
This book was born out of all the teacher frustration that Becky has seen in her 34 years of teaching. It does not matter what level you teach. Becky has had taught them all---from first grade to university. The principles you will learn expand through all ages and for all grades, and will alleviate much of the angst and perplexity felt by teachers universally.
"Let me tell you what I did: I asked the experts---the kids who have to sit in classes all day long. I posed the question, "What SHOULD and SHOULDN'T teachers do in the classroom?" I got so tired of hearing students complain of BORING classes, of rude teachers, and of stupid things done in the name of teaching. I knew I had to get them to write it all down: their thoughts, suggestions, experiences, and hurts. And their joys! I wanted it all. I also had them throw in a story that had impacted their lives that involved a teacher." ~ Becky
You will find some things disturbing, some things enlightening, some things thought-provoking, but all entertaining and educational. Becky lets the students completely speak for themselves. Becky has been a high-school and college teacher since 1970, and received her Masters in Education Administration in 1981. She was raised in Belize, Central America, and has been selected for numerous awards including Disney Teacher of the Year and UCSD Teacher of the Year. She has taught at California State University at San Diego, University of San Diego, Palomar College and Chapman University.
