Blog Tour Management :: Authors & Publishers

Return to Blog Tour Main Page

This has been one of the most thorough blog tours I’ve seen.  I enjoyed the personal angles each of your blog team added before posting the Francine interviews and other great content.  It required very little work from me to manage and your team did what they do best. Your team did an excellent job for Francine Rivers and her new book. Please count on setting up the next tour.

~ Babette Rae, Tyndale House Publishers

Thank you for doing a great job in getting the word out about the book and for helping so many people get a grip on their lives. You did, and are doing, a great job.

~Thelma Wells, Author, A Woman of God Ministries

Great job on the One Year Women’s Friendship blog tour. It looks like you have lots of participants!

~ Kathleen McClelland, Tyndale House Publishers

We enjoyed viewing the different blogs and reading their comments about SCANDALON by Susan Elaine Jenkins. Thanks to you for all the work and time you put into this blog tour, keeping track, and making sure the bloggers were putting the interview up on their blog, as well as keeping us informed with what was going on. We were happy with the way it turned out and hopefully we'll have a chance to send another book your way!

~ Christina Slike, Cladach Publishing

What is a Blog Tour?

A Blog Tour simply takes the message of your book, and you as the author, to audiences that possibly might not know about you or your book to the millions of readers in the blogosphere on the Internet.

A Blog Tour is an opportunity for these blog owners to post the author's prepared written interview in a Q&A style on their specific day of the tour.

The beauty of using this technology is that once the author supplies Christian Speaker Services with their interview, they do not have to be present during the blog tour. The author can be maximizing their time with other aspects of their book promotion or business/ministry.

A Blog Tour also allows the readers to travel from one blog to another with the author along the blog tour for additional opportunities to post their comments about the author/book for opportunities to receive a FREE copy of the book in a random drawing (see individual blogs for how they choose to conduct the book giveaway).

When combined with the release of a new book and other media promotional opportunities, a Blog Tour can help introduce an author and their book to countless readers around the world.

What is the goal of conducting a Blog Tour?

It is simply to get your message to audiences that otherwise would not know about you, the author, or your book. Then, based on your written interview, they are interested and want to visit your web site, sign up for your mailing list, inquire about booking you if you are also a speaker... and ultimately BUY YOUR BOOK!

What does CSS do as your Blog Tour Coordinator?

We act as coordinator and liaison, as needed, between hosts and Author/Publisher during the Blog Tour.

From our proven contacts with blog hosts, we can fill the blog tour itinerary with qualified blogs to help spread the message of your book.

  • We will create a web site page for this tour.
  • We will send out e-invitations to our database of blog hosts, Facebook, and Twitter connections, as well as provide on-going publicity during the blog tour via these sources.
  • We will schedule the blog hosts who will post your itinerary on their blogs.
  • We will coordinate with the blog hosts to ensure that they post your interview and the appropriate graphics (book cover and author's photo).
  • We follow the tour to ensure each host posts as agreed.
  • We will communicate with the author/publisher as needed during the entire process.

"I just wanted to thank you all for hosting me on your web page. I really can't express in words how much that means to me. The reviews I have received were humbling, and it was a great joy to see The Calling represented in such wonderful ways. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart."

~ Jacob Israel , Author
The Calling

What at does the Author and Publisher do?

1. Create a written interview (often using Q&A's already on-hand for other media), or an article on the topic of the book.
2. Mail one copy of the book to each blog host on the tour to use as a giveaway for their drawings. (Publisher will do this sometimes for the author.) (Note: The blog host may choose to keep this for their own use.)

Optional: Visit each blog during the tour and post a comment(s) as appropriate to readers' comments. Coordinates with Christian Speaker Services to send a thank you email to each host after the tour.

NOTE: The author does not have to be present or visit the blogs during the tour.

Blog Tour Reservations & Rates

Typically the Blog Tour timeline runs an average of 90-days from the first task -- creating the online itinerary page and inviting the blogs to host -- to the last blog post of the two-week tour. Due to the length of this commitment that we make to each author for their Blog Tour, CSS has a limited number of Blog Tours slots available each year. These dates are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Payment for Services: Half of the Blog Tour fee is the deposit, payable up front to secure your Blog Tour date and our services. Work commences when payment is received. The remaining half of the fee is payable no later than the last day of the Blog Tour.

Give us a call...we'll be glad to answer any questions you may have about getting started, quote rates, and discuss available dates:

Limited openings for 2010

Please check with your Publisher, as they may pay for all or part of the Blog Tour fee as part of their promotional/PR budget for your book.

We cannot guarantee a certain number of hosts on your tour, however, we strive to get at least one host per day of the tour (with multiple hosts per day whenever possible). The maximum number of host per tour is dependent upon the number of books that are available to give out by the author/publisher. Blog tour response and results depend on the name recognition of the Author, the topic of the book as it applies to a general audience, and the strength of the Author's web site.
